The review:
I have been dying to go to Blixen for so long now and I was so excited when they decided to collaborate with me so I could tick it off the bucket list!
You can find them at the edge of Spitalfields market – just spot the foliage and you’ve got the spot. They have a couple of tables outside in the sun as part of the Blixen bar but you need to get a seat inside for the real fun aka food. The menu offers an exotic twist to what I would classify as traditional dishes. Your typical croquettes were spiced up with wasabi mayo and ravioli deep fried – I mean everything is better deep fried wouldn’t you agree? I myself am a sucker for any dish containing n’duja and when combined with filo pastry and seared scallops well, what more could you ask for really. They also house what I imagine are London’s thickest hand cut chips (these were bigger and thicker than most wedges I’d tampered with in the past).
Overall Blixen left a fabulous taste in my mouth and I can’t recommend enough how much this should be on your bucket list. The prices aren’t the cheapest but definitely matched in quality!
A perfect location for a family lunch, catch ups with the girls and events as they have a private room.
