I’m sure most of you have heard of the National Portrait Gallery and most have probably set foot in its exhibitions just at the top of Trafalgar Square but I bet you didn’t know that it had its own event space that’s pretty darn cute.
Last week I had the chance to attend the launch of the Secret Garden outdoor event space at the NPG. I know what you’re thinking, “it’s highs of 13 degrees outside, summers over babe” but alas it was a beautiful event and the space is definitely perfect for a corporate drinks or gathering as it oozed charm, I could even actual picture it as the perfect place to announce an engagement if you had that kind of money. I must say I was a bit nervous before going as I know evening like this tend to have minimal drinks and 100 people standing at the doors waiting to snatch up canapés like animals but it was honestly such a lovely event.
I got a flower crown, endless prosecco, nabbed most of the canapés and got to watch a fab live band and hula hooping girl so what’s not to love. The space itself was honestly transformed by the Simon J Lycett florals and if there’s anything us instagrammers love more than a table full of food, its a flower arch let me tell you which made it double annoying when these couple of women decided to sit on the most instagrammable bench of the whole evening to have a casual chat….NO BABES that’s actually the equivalent of a photo booth at these events…we make them move..I’m not ashamed.
So there you go, a random but beautiful evening at the National Portrait Gallery, if you want to see what else I get up to then follow me on @belleofbrunch on instagram!
