Having quit my job but also being obsessed with going on holiday, I have been on the hunt to find a holiday which I can afford on my £150 a week salary in the next coming months. An impossible task you think? I think not.
Here are my city break options for under £250 for a 2 night city break flights and hotel (on the weekend) because just because you’re broke, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve a holiday.
I promise I won’t suggest anywhere I wouldn’t stay in myself and all costs are based on London flights.
Prague
Where you can find Europe’s best beer or so I’ve heard. Prague has been one of the European cities on my wishlist for the past two years. Drowning in history and beautiful architecture, walk through the cobbled streets and see this beautiful maze of a city yourself in July can you believe it for under £250.
You can find 4* and even some 5* options on lastminute.com but my choice would be High Heaven apartments for £245 including flights on the 20th – 22nd July – you’ll be close to the centre and the apartments are relatively modern!

The Hague/ Den Haag
This one will get you excited. For the same weekend (20th – 22nd July) you can stay at an abundance of hotels for under £200 with flights! I first learnt about The Hague when I used to work at Hilton head office and I can tell you that this place is underrated and probably not visited as much as its sister Amsterdam. The best part about it is it’s got a beach so you can top up that tan and know you can relax without breaking the bank!
You can stay at Hiltons, Novotels and Marriott a long with some boutique hotels for under £200 so take a look on lastminute.com and book whatever is your style, I’m looking at The Paulowna Boutique hotel!

Tuscany
The only place I have visited in Italy so far has been Venice and I can tell you that I loved it. I’ve also heard amazing things about Tuscany but lets be honest, any city break in Italy would be amazing and just think of the pizza and pasta. Well, you better believe that loveholidays.com (aka my favourite holiday booking site) has got a 3 night stay at the 4* Boston Hotel in Tuscany for only £188 on the 6th of July. £ 1 8 8 . You are reading correctly.
You would be silly not to book it.

Barcelona
I love Barcelona a lot. It’s the only European city I can ever picture myself living in. It has amazing architecture, fabulous beaches, booming night clubs, colourful brunches and LOADS of sangria! Think it’s too late to find a good deal? Think again. Stay at this quirky hotel in Barcelona for only £235 with flights – Casa Trianon. Barcelona’s metro system is so helpful too so you’re never really too far from the centre of the action!

Cannes
I discovered that Cannes was cheap to travel to in September and I was shocked. September? You better believe its still hot enough to tan thats for sure. No obviously Cannes will be a little more expensive there but you can book the 14th – 16th September for £200 at Hotel PLM. I personally think you don’t need much from a hotel in a city break because realistically you’ll be strolling long the beaches and out most of the day anyway but this hotel looks clean, simple and good value for money!

So there you go! Trust me when I say I want to book these all but sadly we know where my bank account stands. I’m hoping to visit The Hague though with my sisters and I’ve already ticked off Barcelona this year….race ya?
Let me know what you think and if you decide to book any of these city breaks, I want to hear all about it!
