After a night of heavy drinking and travelling from south east, to east, to really far east, all way to west and then back down to south east London I was determined to detox and recover on my day of rest.
Having stayed at my boyfriends in Erith, I’ll wait whilst you google where that is…….yes allllllllllllllllllll the way there, I had to find a great brunch which would take a maximum of 10 mins to get to with an impending hangover. So I gave it a google and I wont lie my options were limited but then I found this precious cafe ChinChins Coffee House.
So this is their Facebook description:
We are an independent coffee shop with a stylish and authentic look that focus on speciality coffee, a range of teas and amazingly tasty foods
I was won over at the word coffee.
So we took a very speedy bus to town and power walked until I had a stitch to get there and this cafe is seriously cute, very beige, chalk boards for a menu and they had two types of coffee (hallelujah).
I ordered the salmon and egg on rye with extra avocado but had I not been hungover and deliriously hungry, I would’ve asked for it on toast rather than rye, I don’t even like rye and Dan got a BLT, boring but at least it was in regular bread. We then got a lemonade, San Pellegrino of course and a flat white for me. Now this is the first flat white I’ve ordered, my friend I used to live with is so obsessed with them so I thought I’d try and honestly..heaven, this coffee was so creamy and silky I wanted to hug it.
The food did not disappoint either! Although I’m still not won over by rye bread the salmon was stacked UP, to the point where I was actually full which is saying something because I’m sure you would never get that much salmon in central London for £6.50. Imagine buying a £4 pack of smoked salmon from Tesco and putting the whole thing on a plate, that is literally how much salmon I was seeing (NB: I could’ve still been drunk).
Here’s a few pics of our meal from some rather delicious angles:
Other GREAT pro’s for this coffee house were:
- Good magazines provided
- Cute tables and chairs
- Great CD, like hella lot of Dido which I know we all don’t have enough of in our lives
- Really friendly and chatty staff which is a big deal coming from hungover Juti who hates everyone
- The cake selection – all I’m saying is banana and caramel cake
- Its on deliveroo
Cons:
- Flowers needed to be changed but I appreciated them being there
I truly believe this coffee house offers the best brunch vibes in Bexleyheath but I’m happy for you to try and prove me wrong!
I will be back for a flat white every time I’m in the area, that’s for sure.
